Wissenaire 2019, its 9th edition, has been successfully launched in the permanent campus of IIT Bhubaneswar that resides on the foothills of the Barunei enveloped with serenity. This year the theme is-"Augmented Reality-Perceptual enhancement of technology for the genesis of anthropocentric technology."

 

Prof. R .V Rajakumar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar, Dr. K Radhakrishnan(Former Chairman ISRO), Dr. Meenu Ramadas (Chairperson Wissenaire 2019) and Dr. N B Puhan(Vice-Chairman Wissenaire 2019)  inaugurated Wissenaire 2019 by lighting the lamp. It was followed by the release of the theme video and logo launch. Dr. Meenu Ramadas, Chairperson Wisseniare 2019 gave a brief explanation of the theme to the gathering. Prof R V Raja Kumar in his address to the gathering lauded the technical achievements of the students and recollected his days with the Chief Guest at IIT Kharagpur. Chief Guest Dr. K Radhakrishnan in his informative addressing termed Augmented Reality to be the technology for the future. Dr. N B Puhan expressed his appreciation for Team Wissenaire's efforts and conveyed his best wishes for this edition. 

Later on the winner of Qwissenaire 2019, M Lasya Choudry received the memento and cash prize from the Chief Guest. It was followed by the vote of thanks by the Chief Coordinator Wissenaire 2019, Rahul Balaji. 

Chief Guest Dr. K Radhakrishnan delivered his guest lecture on the topic-"Augmented Reality and Human Space Exploration-Emerging Trends".He went to speak about the way Augmented Reality has helped in improving the efficiency and accuracy in the field of space exploration. The event had a grand denouement as Selva Kumar, "The man of drones" entertained the crowd with his drone show. The auspicious evening came to an end with the lighting of lanterns by the dignitaries followed by the students.
