With a great sense of pleasure and satisfaction, IIT Bhubaneswar announces its final shifting of the Central Administration from Toshali Bhawan located in the city to the Permanent Campus at Argul today i.e. on 14th July 2018 (Saturday) coinciding with the auspicious day of Rath Yatra. The Institute will now be made fully operational at its green, inspiring and lustrous campus. This marks achieving an important milestone of 100% movement of academic and administrative operations to the Institute’s permanent campus.
The Institute started its first operation from this campus on 18th July 2015 in a record time of 3 months of preparedness after a bold decision is taken. The campus has been developed thereafter in a fine to wellness environment, in the last 3 years. This could only be possible due to the unique hard work of all at IIT Bhubaneswar under the charismatic guidance of our Director Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar. Speaking on the occasion Prof. R. V. Raja Kumar said that “It gives us a great sense of achievement that IIT Bhubaneswar could have the accomplishment of coming together from a condition of a non-habitable place to an inspiring campus within a short period of three years. It marks the beginning of an era in the history of IIT Bhubaneswar to occupy its own land finally”. Prof. Raja Kumar thanked MHRD for its full support in granting adequate funds of Rs. 850 crores for Phase-2 construction and towards making the Institute self-sufficient. He also thanked the Govt. of Odisha for their all-round support in bringing up the Institute.
