The holy week of 2018 has brought sorry news for the nation and especially for our institute in the form of the sad demise of Subhajit Sen, an alumnus of batch 2017 M.Sc Geology from the School of Earth, Oceans and Climate Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar. With a heavy heart, we mourn the death of Subhajit Sen who is now no more with us.
After clearing a competitive process Subhajit got selected to be a part of 37th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica. Enroute to Maitri, India's Research base in Antarctica, he met with a sorrowful accident during convoy operations which put him into an unappeasable trauma on 26th March 2018 and an hour later he passed away. Subhajit's friends and colleagues remember him as an exuberant, friendly and an adorable company who would pitch in extra efforts in order to bring a smile on other’s face.
As this holy week signifies the power of prayer, we whole heartedly pray that Lord showers his choicest blessings in form of courage and solace to Subhajit's family. We also pray that Lord grants peace to the soul that He has called up to him.
