The GIAN course on Multiprocessor Architectures and Programming started on 16th December which will continue till 23 December. There are 48 participants for the course which are mostly academic professionals, Masters and PhD students from various universities. Prof L.N. Bhuyan from University of California at Riverside and Dr Ashwini Nanda from HPC Links (formerly with IBM) are the invited speakers. This course will cover topics like SMP/DSM Architectures, Pthread parallel programming, Cache coherence protocols, Multiprocessor Communication, GPU architectures, CUDA programming and Simulation using gem5/GPGPUsim simulators. Current research topics in these areas will also be discussed.
