The cultural week 2016 had a mesmerizing start thanks to the breathtaking performance by Pandit Debashish Bhatacharya and Pandit Chandrasekhar Gandhi, who gave a feast to the ears with the divine tones of Sarod and Tabla. The event was organized in association with Spic Macay; The Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth, Bhubaneswar chapter. The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed director Prof. R.V Rajakumar and other dignitaries. This was followed by a Hindi debate, organized by Abhivyakti, the Hindi literary society, which had active participation and they debated on the topic, “whether educational qualification should be made mandatory for people’s representatives”.
The second evening was kicked off by the “Game of Thrones” quiz, conducted by Panacea, the English literary society which had three rounds to filter out the best followers of the series/books. This was followed by an interesting and fun filled competition of “Reading a paragraph backwards”. This was followed by the musical competitions which went on in different subcategories. Students enthusiastically took part in various genres like solo singing, instrumental, and cover music.
The final night’s atmosphere went electric thanks to the dance performances. Apart from the Dance society members, many students took part in solo and group performances which gathered lot of attention and applause from the audience.
Three days of enjoyment and festivity was brought to a conclusion by the prize distribution by Dr. N.N Murthy and Dr. Srinivas Bhaskar Karanki.
