The International Conference on Microwave, Optical and Communication Engineering (ICMOCE-2015) is being organized at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar between 18-20 December, 2015. As the realm of microwave and photonics merges together catapulting technological growth to new domains such as terahertz technology, photonic radar and microwave photonics, there is a growing need to bring together the stakeholders from all the associated domains to a common platform. Thus, taking the opportunity to observe 2015 as the International Year of Light, the School of Electrical Sciences at IIT Bhubaneswar is launching the first event in the series during 18-20 December, 2015. ICMOCE-2015 strives to weave together the domains of microwave, optical and communication engineering. Keeping in view the current need, a set of special sessions in biosensors and biomedical imaging, energy and the environment and speech and image processing has also been integrated into the program.
This conference is being technically co-sponsored by IEEE Kharagpur section. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and in IEEE Xplore. The main objective and scope of ICMOCE-2015 is to provide an international forum for the exchange of ideas among interested researchers, students, faculty, scientist, practicing engineers and young engineers from industry, academia and research and development organizations. It will provide a platform to discuss pioneering technical work and leading-edge research and to address recent trends and challenges in the fields of microwave, optical and communication Engineering and their numerous applications.
The inaugural program of ICMOCE 2015 was presided by Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof. Ratnam V. Raja Kumar. Dr. B. B. Rath, Padmabhusan, Associate Director of Naval Research Laboratories, USA was the chief guest at the occasion.
The conference organizers are delighted by the enthusiastic response received from researchers from all over the country and abroad. In fact, it had received more than 900 online registrations for paper submission with a majority of them resulting in successful submissions, many of which were of very high quality. The technical program committee was faced with the daunting task of selecting a handful of the submissions based on their technical merit. The reviewing process involved the participation of prominent academician. In the end, around 150 papers have need selected for presentation in the oral and poster sessions of ICMOCE 2015. The conference committee has put together a truly unique programme that addresses the cutting edge techniques. This includes a series of state-of-the-art invited talks presented by internationally renowned experts. This will be accompanied by breakout sessions of oral and poster presentations. Oral sessions are organized in 15 areas of interest (tracks) structured to help the delegates find their community within the event. The aim is to make this conference the first and foremost platform for sharing and discussing research ideas with like minded researchers from the academia, industry and R&D laboratories.
