Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar is organising "Surya Kumbh" Solar Cooking Workshop on the eve of World Students Day 15 th Oct 2023, the Birth Anniversary of the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Design Innovation Cell, in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Bhubaneswar is jointly organising this event. This event aims to inspire and educate. It brings together government school children from nearby villages, specifically those in grades 5 through 9, along with IIT Bhubaneswar Migrant worker kid's.  A significant highlight of the "Surya Kumbh" Solar Cooking Workshop is the involvement of nearly 410 students who will bake their cakes using solar cookers. During the workshop, they will receive training on building and utilizing solar cookers for cooking. This hands-on experience not only imparts knowledge about clean energy alternatives but also fosters an understanding of innovative design concepts and engineering principles. Furthermore, students will take these cookers home to assist in preparing a portion of their school's mid-day meals, contributing to sustainable practices.
