16th Feb, 2020, Bhubaneswar: There is no love more sincere than the love for food. The same was epitomized with celebratory flavour on Sunday, 16th February 2020 at IIT Bhubaneswar through "Food Fest 2020" organized by the Student Hostel Council which saw an active participation from student community at IIT Bhubaneswar.
The event was graced by Prof. R V Rajakumar, Director IIT Bhubaneswar, who expressed his happiness and encouraged the student community on the occassion. Speaking on the occasion, he said "Today the students have shown that be it creation of unique engineering solutions, technology innovations or even cooking, IITians execute tasks at a high degree of standards. It gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure to see their progress on all fronts including successful execution of the event with perfection. I would like to congratulate each participating student for showcasing their innovative culinary skills during this food fest and I wish them good luck in all their future endeavors."
This year, fifteen teams set their food stalls inside the campus. These fifteen teams included students from various departments, hostel staff and faculty members of IIT Bhubaneswar. Every team produced some unique items giving the campus public a opportunity to savour on various cuisines from different parts of India. Mouth watering items were served, which included drinks, starters and main course flavours from different parts of the country, as illustrated by the aromas from the Kerala, Andhra, Rajasthani and Odia cuisine which were prepared across.
The Food Fest provided a platform for the students to showcase their culinary skills and share their love for food, rendering it a grand success under the leadership of General Secretary Rahul Naidu and Deputy General Secretary Harsha Vardhan. The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff members in large nos.
