The Institute proposes to offer Micro-Specializations to the under graduate and dual degree students. The salient features are as follow:
1. Each Micro-Specialization has a defined/ fixed structure in terms of three sequential components:
a. Component-I – One or two Foundation subject (s) (3-6 credits) that constitutes a mandatory requirement which should be as a starting subject.
b. Component-II- One or two subjects (3-6 credits each)
(Total three subjects should be taken from Component – I and Component-II)
c. Component-III- Project/Design/Term Paper (3-4 credits) OR one subject (3-4 credits).
2. A Student would be required to complete 12-14 to earn a Micro-Specialization.
3. A student should cover these subjects as either an open elective/depth/lateral/ breadth subject. However, student has to take at least two subjects as additional credits from Component-1 and Component-2 to earn a Micro-Specialization.
4. Students aspiring for a Micro-Specialization must register for the same after 4th Semester. Students without any backlog will be permitted to register.
5. The total number of seats in the Micro-Specialization is 30. Students obtaining a Minimum CGPA of 8.00 at the end of the 4nd Semester are eligible to apply for the Micro-Specialization. The allotment will be based on the CGPA inter-se merit of students applied for the Micro-Specialization. Ties will be broken by the JEE rank of the students.
6. The student must maintain a CGPA or SGPA ≥ 8.0 without any Backlog in the subsequent semesters to keep the Micro-Specialization registration active.
7. CGPA for the subjects contributing to the Micro-Specialization will be separately calculated. A minimum CGPA of 6.0 is essential to earn the Micro-Specialization.
8. Student opting for the Minor programme is not permitted for Micro-Specialization
9. Students enrolled in the Dual Degree programme are permitted to pursue Micro-Specialization up to their 10th Semester, while B.Tech students should complete the Micro-Specialization requirements by 8th semester.
