Biosketch

Dr. Vijayakrishna Kari did his schooling in a Government Public School, Nizampatnam, which is a coastal village in Andhra Pradesh and his native place too. Dr. Kari received M.Sc (Organic Chemistry) from Andhra University, Vizag and Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.  Dr. Kari did his Postdoctoral Research at LCPO, University of Bordeaux, France, where he received the prestigious CNRS Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Dr. Kari is a visiting scientist to POLYMAT University of Basque Countries, Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain (May-June 2016 and Nov-2013 to April-2014)  and ITQB, University of Lisbon,  Portugal (June–July 2016).

Currently, Dr. Kari is an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the School of Basic Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar.  Before joining IIT Bhubaneswar, Dr. Kari was a full Professor at the School of Advanced Sciences, Vellore Institute of Technology Vellore.

 Dr. Kari’s broad research area is Synthetic Polymer Chemistry.  He authored more than 80 publications (which are internationally reputed), 3 patents (1 USA and 2 Indian) and 4 book chapters. Dr. Kari guided 7 Ph.D students and currently, 5 scholars are pursuing their Ph.D under his guidance.
