Dr. Sreetama Misra serves as a member of the faculty at the School of Humanities, Social Sciences & Management, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. Her research spans moral philosophy, environmental ethics, phenomenology, and discourse ethics. She has been actively engaged in teaching and research for over a decade, contributing to both philosophical scholarship and interdisciplinary discussions. Before joining IIT Bhubaneswar, she was an Assistant Professor under the West Bengal government (WBCSC) for eight years. Dr. Misra completed her PhD at Assam University, Silchar (a Central University) under the aegis of ICPR. Her doctoral thesis, titled "Solidarity Rights and the Prospects of 'Planetary-Global' Ethics: A Philosophical Inquiry", critically examines the conceptual foundations of solidarity rights and their implications for global ethical frameworks. She has published research articles in reputed national and international journals and has presented her work at various academic conferences and symposiums. In addition to her research, she enjoys teaching a range of philosophy courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating both classical and contemporary perspectives. She also serves as a reviewer for several international journals. Beyond academia, she finds joy in music, traveling to new places, and experimenting with culinary creations.
