Research Interests

Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources Engineering: Surface water management, design of drainage networks, design of storm water sewers, design of pipe networks, transient analysis in pipe networks

 

Fluvial hydraulics: sediment transport around offshore structures due to combined waves and currents, local scour around hydraulic structures, sediment yield from river basins, reservoir sedimentation, impact of climate change on sediment transport and delivery through river basins, effect of anthropogenic influences on coastal morphological changes

 

Open channel hydraulics: submerged wall jets, experimental fluid mechanics, mathematical flow modeling, Simulations of flow processes, turbulent flow characteristics around various partially and fully submerged structures

 

Environmental hydraulics: flow through emergent and submerged vegetation, lateral and longitudinal dispersion through emergent and submerged vegetation, effect of bio-mechanical properties of aquatic vegetation on the turbulent flow characteristics
